CHICAGO — The CTA is testing out new seats on buses and ‘L’ cars that could impact your ride.

Since May, 50 new buses and 14 rail cars with hard, plastic seats have been put in use under a pilot program.

The CTA has used fabric-covered seats since the 1990’s, but they say the new plastic seats are more resistant to stains and germs, and will be easier to clean.

The pilot program is the standard way for the CTA to test new technologies in its buses and cars.

A CTA spokesperson says they’ll continue to test out the new seats and they’re seeking customer and employee feedback.
