Did Cubs 3B Kris Bryant’s accomplishment cost him some money?
PITTSBURGH – In a season of personal bests that will likely bring more accolades after the season, Kris Bryant reached another milestone on Monday night.
With a two-run homer in the sixth inning the third baseman went over the 100 RBI mark for the first time in his young career. It was particularly satisfying for Bryant considering he fell one short of that mark a year ago.
But according to a story in the Chicago Tribune on Tuesday, it appears the accomplishment cost him a little cash.
The next accomplishment for Bryant would be hitting his 40th homer. Right now he sits on 39th and if he can get one more before the end of the season he would be the first since Derrek Lee in 2005 to hit 40 or more in a season for the Cubs.
