WASHINGTON -- WGN-TV anchors Bob Jordan and Jackie Bange are known for their epic commercial break handshake. Now, that handshake is getting some special recognition.

A clip of the handshake is now running as part of a compilation of cultural expressions at the Smithsonian's new National Museum of African American History and Culture. It's expected to be a permanent part of the exhibit.

Back in 2009, a video of Bob and Jackie's handshake was posted to YouTube and it has since gone viral with over 7 million views. However, the co-anchors say they were doing the handshake even before 2009!

The Smithsonian honor comes just in time for Bob Jordan's retirement. He anchored his last newscast Sunday after more than 40 years with WGN-TV.
