CHICAGO — Welcome to Chicago little fellas! The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum now has 131 endangered baby Blanding’s turtles on exhibit.
The Blanding’s turtle hatchlings measure between 1/2 to 1 inch and weigh less than 1 ounce each.
They will live at the museum for one to two years, allowing them to grow in a predator free environment before being released into the wild.
Blanding’s turtles are indigenous to Illinois. More info: naturemuseum.org
