White Sox Game Notes For Wednesday vs. Detroit

* Miguel Cabrera is slugging .500 or better for a 13th straight season, putting him in good company, trailing only Stan Musial (15) and Jimmie Foxx/Lou Gehrig (14).

*Jose Quintana is the midst of a remarkable run at home – he’s had at least four strikeouts while walking one batter or fewer in each of his last 10 home starts.

* This marks the fourth straight year that Quintana and fellow lefty Chris Sale have each punched out at least 150. That ties for the longest streak ever by a southpaw tandem (Jon Matlack/Jerry Koosman NYM 1973-76).

* When the White Sox need a clutch hit late in a game, Todd Frazier has come through time and time again this year, leading the majors with 23 RBIs in “close and late” situations. (Close & Late = Seventh inning or later with the batting team ahead by one run, tied, or with the tying run on base, at bat or on deck)
