CHICAGO — The NFL announced Twitter hashtag emojis for its teams on Wednesday, and some Chicago Bears fans aren’t happy.
Whenever you write your team’s corresponding hashtag in a tweet, an emoji of the team’s logo will appear next to it. In the Bears’ case, that hashtag is #FeedDaBears.
Bears fans are frustrated because “Feed Da Bears” isn’t a slogan that’s normally associated with team. Fans usually say “Bear Down” or “Da Bears,” but not “Feed Da Bears.” Many took to Twitter to vent:
When asked why the hashtag #BearDown was not used, the official Bears Twitter account responded: “Messy legal stuff. Phooey.”
