Man in stolen ambulance crashes Labor Day cookout

YOUNGSTOWN, Oh. — A Labor Day cookout in Ohio was interrupted by a surprise guest who came to the party in a stolen ambulance.

Police say Jose Diaz, Jr. found an ambulance parked at a gas station was unlocked with the key inside. So he drove off with it.

It wasn’t hard for police to find the ambulance because it has a GPS tracker. They followed it on the highway and then eventually to a driveway full of parked cars. The cookout’s host said Diaz parked in the last available spot in a row of cars.

Police arrested him there without incident.

Diaz faces charges for stealing the ambulance and leading police on a chase.
