One dead, more than 20 injured in Labor Day weekend shootings

CHICAGO - As of Sunday morning, one person is dead and more than 20 people injured in shootings across Chicago over the Labor Day Weekend.

The fatal shooting happened on the Southwest Side early Sunday morning.

Police say the two men were standing in an alley in Archer Heights when someone started shooting.

Witnesses believe the men were at a backyard party.

The shooting happened in the 4800 block of South Kildare around 12:10 a.m.

A 32-year-old man was hit in the head.

He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The other man is 22 years old.

He was shot in the arm and chest.

He took himself to Holy Cross Hospital and is in serious condition.
