CHICAGO - Officially the season began last weekend with a scattering of games across the country and the world.
But for most college football fans the start of the season is really the first weekend in the month of September when the majority of the teams take the field for the first time.
Lovie Smith begins his tenure at Illinois in Champaign against Murray State while Northwestern opens at home with Western Michigan. Notre Dame has a rare Sunday night game in Austin against Texas while a number of key match-ups take place across the country.
Before they all get started, we had Adam Rittenberg of ESPN come on Sports Feeed to talk about what's ahead for this season.
