* Despite scoring just four runs in the first two games of the series, the San Diego Padres have kicked up their scoring at home recently. Since June 1, they’re the second-best in the league (5.26 runs per game), after having trouble plating runs at Petco Park earlier in the season (2.96 rpg).

*At 80-45, this marks the 10th time in Cubs history they’ve won at least 80 of their first 125 games, but it is the first time since 1929.

* Wil Myers has struggled against the Cubs in his career. His .176 batting average is his worst against any team.

* Kris Bryant continued his torrid streak with another home run last night. In his last six games, he has 13 hits, five home runs, 13 RBI, and 10 runs.

* Not only does Kyle Hendricks lead the majors in ERA at 2.16, but he has also greatly improved his ERA from last season’s 3.95.
