CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs are on a winning streak and making history along the way.

Thursday night’s game against the Cardinals gave the Cubs their 10th win. That’s the team’s longest streak since winning 12 straight from May 19-June 2, 2001. Plus, the win stretched the Cubs’ lead to a season-high 13 games with 49 games left.

Wait, there’s more. Nine of the Cubs’ 10 wins have occurred in the month of August, and the team has not been 9-0 at the start of August since their 1909 season.

Way to go, Cubs! Let’s keep it up!
