CHICAGO — Chicago Sky super star and WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne revealed in an interview with Vogue magazine that she is gay.

The 26-year-old also announced her engagement to partner Amanda Clifton.

Delle Donne told reporters in Rio, where she is getting ready for the Olympics Thursday tomorrow night, that the story in Vogue is not a coming out article.

“I’ve been with (Clifton) for a very long time now, and people who are close to me know that, and that’s that,” she said.

Delle Donne said her Sky teammates have known about the relationship, and its nothing crazy.

The Sky forward said she was always taught to celebrate uniqueness and “it was easy for her to be who she is and hopefully others can be who they are as well.”
