CHICAGO — Multiple traffic accidents including three jackknifed tractor trailers are causing major delays Wednesday morning.

The first jackknifed tractor trailer crashed near 71st street on the outbound Dan Ryan, blocking three left lanes. Hazmat crews were on the scene cleaning up spilled fuel.

A second jackknifed tractor trailer on the inbound Dan Ryan near 63rd Street blocked the two right lanes, police, fire and emergency services were on the scene.

The good news: traffic started to improve as the crashes are getting moved off the road around 6:15 a.m.

A third semi crashed on the inbound Kennedy Expressway at Addison and blocked the right two lanes. That crash has since been cleared but residual delays continue.
