NORTH CHICAGO --   Some veterans working to reintegrate into civilian life are getting new homes thanks to volunteers in North Chicago.

Employees of pharmaceutical company Abbvie and a Lake County partnership are fixing up permanent homes for the former soldiers.

One has been living in transitional housing in Arizona, separated from his 11-year-old daughter who was living with her grandmother in Milwaukee.

They’ll be reunited after getting the keys to a spruced up apartment today.
