CHICAGO -- Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced plans Friday morning for three major hotel projects at O’Hare, designed to keep the airport competitive with other major air hubs.
The announcement was made on the tarmac outside the international terminal where one of two new hotels will be built.
Another new hotel will be built on the northeast corner of O’Hare property near Mannheim Road.
The third project will be the renovation of the O’Hare Hilton.
The $350 million project will more than double the number of rooms available now.
It will generate about 1200 construction jobs.
All three should be completed by 2021.
