MILWAUKEE, Wisc. -- Fresh from a 14-month, $34 million dollar remake of gallery spaces, the renowned Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM) offers a transformed visitor experience for art lovers in 2016.  People will see a new presentation of MAM’s entire collection, which includes its formidable Modernism collection and some of the best examples in the world of so-called, “Folk - Outsider” art.

Among the museums new offerings this season, until September 5, is the entertaining exhibit, “American Epics: Thomas Hart Benton & Hollywood.”  The colorful installation features paintings and murals from this important 20th century painter.

“It’s a major national traveling retrospective,” says MAM chief curator, Brady Roberts.  “This is the only time it’ll be in the Midwest.”

But it’s MAM’s famous pavilion that continues to be a big draw for architecture buffs world-wide.    Designed by famed Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the bird-like structure sits perched on the shores of Lake Michigan, welcoming visitors to one of the best art experiences in the United States.
