Blackhawks trade Bickell, Teravainen to Carolina
CHICAGO – Only a few days have passed since the end of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and already Stan Bowman has made a big move for the Blackhawks.
On Wednesday morning the team send forwards Bryan Bickell and Teuvo Teravainen to the Hurricanes in exchange for a second round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft and a third round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft.
Bickell’s high salary made him difficult to keep on the roster during the 2015-2016 season as he appeared sparingly through the season. Lack of production also kept him off the team’s playoff roster.
The 30-year old spent part of nine seasons with the team, scoring 65 goals with 70 assists in 384 career games in Chicago. Bickell was apart of the 2013 and 2015 Blackhawks Stanley Cup championship teams.
Teravainen, the Blackhawks 2012 1st round pick, ended up staying with the team for three seasons, scored 17 goals with 27 assists in 115 games with the Blackhawks.
