Fire officials confirmed that they and the Coast Guard are searching for the missing person in the lake off of North Avenue Beach near 1600 N. Lake Shore Drive.

CHICAGO — The Chicago Fire Department says it is looking for a missing swimmer in Lake Michigan.

Chicago Fire Department officials confirmed that they and the Coast Guard are searching for the missing person in the lake off of North Avenue Beach near 1600 N. Lake Shore Drive.

Divers and helicopters were sent to the scene to assist in the search.

Officials say one person was rescued from the water and is in stable condition. Authorities continue to look for another person still missing in water.

It is unclear whether the two were boating or swimming.
