Passengers injured during severe turbulence on Southwest flight to Chicago

CHICAGO -- A Southwest Airlines flight from Boston to Chicago had to turn around and return to Boston due to strong turbulence.

The pilot in command on Southwest Flight 147 from Boston to Chicago-Midway initiated an air turnback after receiving notification that a couple of passengers, including flight attendants, had experienced injuries.

Two flight attendants were taken to the hospital with injuries described as minor. Two others were treated at the airport and released.

The flight arrived in Chicago around 3:30 a.m., four and-a-half hours behind schedule.
