CHICAGO – Miguel Montero is rejoining the Cubs big league roster.
The Cubs activated Montero off the 15-day disabled list prior to Saturday’s matinee against the Pirates.
The 32-year-old veteran will swap places with outfielder Ryan Kalish.
Montero has been sidelined since April 28th with lower back tightness.
He went 2 for 10 with 2 RBI during his three-game rehab assignment with the Iowa Cubs.
Montero has only played in 13 games with the North Siders this season, batting .208 with one home run and six RBI.
