Body pulled from Lake Michigan ID’d as missing medical student

CHICAGO — A body pulled from Lake Michigan has been identified as the missing Chicago medical student.

Ambrose Monye, 28, was reported missing at the end of April. At that time, WGN spoke with his brother who said he was only four weeks away from graduating.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, Monye’s body was found in the water near 5491 South Lake Shore Drive Sunday afternoon. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The cause and manner of Monye’s death are pending further studies.
