DANSVILLE, N.Y. – A man in New York just won $1 million from a scratch-off lottery ticket.

But he didn’t buy the ticket himself.  He got it in a thank you note from his sister.

William Schaffer, Jr., helped his nephew with some sports and gave his nieces a little money.

So his sister gave him a thank you note and added a scratch-off lottery ticket.

When he scratched the ticket, he couldn’t believe what he saw.

He told his sister to join him at the 7-11, because he thought he just won $1 million.

The ticket will net him over $600,000 after taxes.

He plans to buy his dad a new truck, pay off his parents’ mortgage and go on a nice vacation.
