CHICAGO -- At 10 minutes past five o'clock Sunday morning, a car speeding northbound in the 4000 of South Pulaski crossed the median and hit another car head on.

The impact of the crash caused the speeding vehicle to go over this bridge. That's when six witnesses, drivers who had stopped, became good Samaritans.

One passenger was still inside, and the men ran to the danger. That passenger was transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

The driver was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. The female driver of the car that was hit is at Mount Sinai as well, in critical condition.

Though their injuries are serious, those who came to their aid may have saved a life.
