Two dead, more than a dozen injured in separate shootings

CHICAGO - Two people were killed and at least 16 others injured in a wave of shootings on the South and West sides since yesterday afternoon.

Tiara Parks, 23, was shot to death and two other men were wounded in a shooting in the Roseland neighborhood.  It happened about 9:00 last night.

The three were getting out of a vehicle at 114th and S. Stewart when they heard gunshots and realized they'd been hit.  The woman was shot in the head.

The two men with her are stable in the hospital with gunshot wounds.

A 24-year-old man was shot and killed at about 12:30 a.m. in the Lawndale neighborhood.

Police found the man inside a parked car in the 3200 block of W. Douglas.  He was shot in the head.

Police are investigating.
