NEW YORK — Chrissy Teigen and John Legend took to social media Sunday to announce the birth of their baby daughter.

“She’s here!” Teigen announced on Instagram. “Luna Simone Stephens, we are in love with you! And Sleep. Very sleepy.” It is the first child for the celebrity couple.

Luna was born on Thursday and according to Teigen’s post weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces. Her announcement, posted Sunday morning, has already garnered nearly 400,000 likes.

Teigen, a model and TV host, and Legend, a Grammy and Oscar-winning singer, married in 2013. The couple underwent in vitro fertilization after years of struggling to conceive.

“It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family,” Teigen wrote on Instagram back in October. “We’re so excited that it’s finally happening.”
