SKOKIE, Ill. -- Police are searching for the father of a 10-month-old baby after his mother was found dead.

Skokie police were performing a well-being check Thursday morning in the 8200 block of Keating Avenue when they found the body of Catherine Benyamin. They have ruled her death a homicide.

Benyamin's 10-month-old son Joshua was gone.

Police say they suspect he was with his father Jermaine Powell.

The baby was later dropped off at a church near Halsted and Roosevelt in Chicago.

He was then taken to be checked out at a hospital. He's in good condition and a family member is with him.

Skokie police are asking for the public's help in locating Powell.  Anyone with any information is asked to call 847-982-5900 or 847-933-TIPS
