CHICAGO — CTA inbound trains were halted between Harlem and Jefferson Park for nearly two hours Monday morning because of “debris on the tracks,” the agency said.

Shuttle buses were used between the two stops, but the CTA urged riders to use the 88 Higgins and the 56 Milwaukee buses as alternates.

Trains were running again by 9:20 a.m. but significant delays were reported.

CTA spokesman Jeff Tolman said the debris may have been a car tire.
