CHICAGO -- The center of high pressure will move east with strengthening SW winds flowing up the backside of the retreating high pressure, spreading over northern Illinois and the Chicago area.

Gusty winds out of the south-southwest 15 to 25 miles per hour by afternoon and milder.

Abundant sun shines through a layer of mid-level altocumulus clouds that spreads into our area from the west in the morning – highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Partly cloudy overnight.
