A lawyer for Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman says his client now wants to serve his prison time in the United States.

The Former Mexican drug lord is unhappy because prison guards are waking him up every four hours, to make sure he doesn’t escape again. It’s said to be causing him to suffer severe headaches.

Guzman apparently wants to work out a deal where he will accept extradition and plead guilty to charges in the U.S. if he is sentenced to a medium security prison.

Attorneys in at least seven U.S. jurisdictions, including Chicago, want to try Guzman on murder, drug trafficking and organized crime charges.
