Pitchfork Music Festival releases 2016 lineup

CHICAGO — The Pitchfork Music Festival is going back to its roots. T

The lineup for this year returns the focus to smaller, indie bands with a handful of bigger names and classic rock acts sprinkled in.

Among the acts this year, Beach Boy founder Brian Wilson will be performing his original “Pet Sounds” album.

Other bands include Broken Social Scene, Carly Rae Jepson, and Sufjan Stevens.

The three-day festival will return to Union Park July 15-17.

Here is the full Pitchfork schedule:

Friday performances: Beach House, Broken Social Scene, Carly Rae Jepsen, Girl Band, Julia Holter, Mick Jenkins, Moses Sumney, The Range, Shamir, Twin Peaks, and Whitney.

Saturday performances: Anderson .Paak, BJ the Chicago Kid, Blood Orange, Brian Wilson performing Pet Sounds, Car Seat Headrest, Circuit des Yeux, Digable Planets, Holly Herndon, Jenny Hval, Kevin Morby, Martin Courtney, Oneman, Royal Headache, Savages, Sufjan Stevens, and Super Furry Animals.

Sunday performances: Empress Of, FKA Twigs, Holy Ghost, The Hotelier, Jeremih, JLIN, Kamasi Washington, LUH., Miguel, Nao, Neon Indian, Oneohtrix Point Never, Porches, RP Boo, Sun Ra Arkestra, Thundercat, and Woods.
