HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- A dramatic new ultrasound picture show twins - a boy and a girl – apparently holding hands as they wait to be born to a woman in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Brittani McIntire was just told by her doctor that her son won't survive because he has a hole in his heart, and he's half the size of his sister.

The sonogram appears to show the boy holding onto his sister’s finger.

Brittani says, "It's just nice, with everything going on, I know I'm holding him, I'm carrying him, but I just want to be there for him and not knowing. She's the only one who can actually be there and holding onto him through it - and so it's comforting to know that if he does pass, he won't be alone."

Doctors told Brittani they might have been able to perform surgery on her son’s heart, but he also suffered from an underdeveloped brain, so it's likely the McIntires will go home from the hospital with just the baby girl.
