Teen in critical condition, adult stable, after fire in Southwest Side, say officials

CHICAGO -- A 15-year-old boy suffered second and third degree burns and is in critical condition at Mt. Sinai Hospital after a fire broke out on the city's Southwest Side.

A 50-year-old woman who's condition was stabilized.

The fire, at 60th and Troy, started around 8:30 p.m. and quickly spread to the house next door.

Fire officials say there were no working smoke detectors in either of the houses.
