Protesters say budget impasse could force Chicago State University to close

CHICAGO -- Protesters from Chicago State University rallied today outside the Thompson Center over the state budget impasse.

School officials have said CSU will run out of money in March.

Trustees have declared a financial emergency which means layoffs could come in the near future.

Protesters are demanding Governor Rauner and the Illinois General Assembly pass a state budget to keep the school open.
