VAILS GATE, NY — Anthony Mancinelli turns 105 in a few weeks and plans on celebrating his birthday at work.
Mancinelli has been cutting hair sine he was 12 years old.
More than 90 years later, he’s still at it.
“I don’t get tired. I keep going,” says Mancinelli.
“He does a professional job, he’s a master barber,” said one client.
“His work is wonderful, he’s got a heart of gold, he cares about the clientele, he cares about people,” said salon owner Jane Dinezza.
His 79-year-old son, Robert, says it’s amazing, “he’s in better shape than I am.”
Mancinelli still drives himself to work, he comes in at least five days a week and he lives on his own.
Both the state of New York and the Guinness Book of World Records have recognized Mancinelli as the world’s oldest barber.
Mancinelli says cutting hair keeps him young.
When asked when he plans to retire, he said, “the only one that knows that secret is the man above.”
