CHICAGO — Police are warning residents in the South Loop about a string of armed robberies in the area.

There have been several robberies this month: one in the 300 block of East 21st Street, a second in the 1600 block of South Prairie and one in the 2200 block of South Indiana.

Police say in each case, two men targeted drivers entering or exiting their vehicles.

They walked up to the victim, showed them a black pistol and demanded their wallets, jewelry and cellphones.
