CHICAGO – It’s a transaction which many won’t necessarily look at for the potential benefits which he could bring to the team in the infield.

But as far as charisma and entertainment value, none will be the reported signing by the Cubs late Wednesday night.

According to Jon Morosi of Fox Sports, the Cubs have signed a minor league deal with infielder Munenori Kawasaki.

Last year the infielder played in 23 games with the Blue Jays and hit .214 with two runs batted in. That’s not quite while people remember him.

Kawasaki became a social media sensation with his media interviews and celebrations after Toronto won the American League Eastern Division and then their Division Series against the Rangers.

Here are a few samples of some of Kawasaki’s viral interviews with the Toronto media in 2015.
