CHICAGO-- At Chicago West Side Christian School in the city's north Lawndale neighborhood, they are trying to make better tomorrow's -- today!
The teams are cops and kids with the objective to promote a better understanding of each other.
At a time when protests have taken place in the aftermath of the Laquan McDonald shooting Officer Rupert Medina says “We want to show them that we are just like them, we are regular people just like them."
From the teachers slash coaches like Marvin Grover and Clarence strong “it's good for first responders to come out show them they care."
Student and player Lakeeya Hayes says this was fun!
“It's awesome we get to do this with the police."
And the score says Officer Ramiro Alvarez really doesn't master. "It definitely changes their perspective on law enforcement PE/ some of them are pretty good!”
