ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. – There are times, this time of year, when shopping requires a call for backup.

Twelve-year-old Armando and his 8- year-old brother Anthony are two of 22 kids who radioed in and got the call. Throughout the Wal-Mart in Elk Grove Village, even a casual shopper noticed the stepped-up police presence, each of them shopping with kids for presents.

Each of the 22 kids, referred to the program gets a cool $100, cash to spend on most anything they want.  The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 35 fundraised for it – it’s one of several "Shop With a Cop" programs in the area.

In just more than a hour of navigating the evidence, the case was closed for Armando, Anthony and the officers, shopped out and heading to the next call – of a Merry Christmas.
