CHICAGO -- It’s not your typical holiday display that’s capturing attention on Chicago’s North Side.
It’s a work of art in Edgewater that is described, by its creators, as a fictional little boy's conversation with Santa.
On the front lawn of a two-flat there is a giant letter to Santa with a pencil, milk, cookies and a bench inviting people to sit for a moment and reflect.
Caro Doffay and Laura Gilmore are the artists. They created the fictional character Bobby after the Newtown school shooting in December 2012. Since then, the story has evolved as Bobby grows older. This year, he's dealing with loss and he's asking for something we could all use: The gift of compassion.
