School bus driver killed; No one in custody

CHICAGO --A 61-year-old man was found shot to death on the city's Far South Side.

Anthony Bowers was killed in front of his home located at 121st Place and Michigan Ave. in the Roseland neighborhood around 5 a.m. Thursday.

Bowers was walking to his car on his way to work when he was shot in the head.

Family and neighbors found him on the ground with a gunshot wound.

His killer left all of Bowers' belongings - his car, briefcase, and wallet -- behind.

Family says Bowers was man with no known enemies.  He was widely respected by those at Jewel's Bus Company where he drove for more than a decade.

Bowers was a man of many talents. He was going to acting school and appeared as an extra in dozens of TV shows and feature films.

His wife of 37 years Robin says she is baffled.

The motive is unknown.

Area South Detectives are investigating.
