A screaming baby is never reasonable, so parents tried to find ways to convince their bundle of joy to calm down.

Pacifiers get spit out, swaddles get broken out of and you can forget about that “shh” noise. Nothing will calm this baby down.

But one pediatrician says you just have to “hold” him.

Doctor Robert Hamilton calls this technique, “The Hold.”

He says you should try folding the baby`s arms across their front and gently hold them down with one hand.

Then, with your other hand, gently shake the baby’s bottom, while rocking the child up and down.

Hamilton’s video on YouTube features two satisfied customers.

One was soothed after receiving a shot in the leg, at the doctor’s office.
