The Salvation Army is making a slow transition into the 21st century this holiday season.

We all recognize the bells and red kettles, but not everyone has change all the time.

So the Salvation Army has started using "dip jars."

The devices allow you to swipe your debit or credit card and donate a designated amount with each swipe.

The dip jars haven't made it to Chicago quite yet.

They're being tested in Milwaukee, and parts of Colorado and California.
