A cancer patient has died just days after getting his dying wish to see the new Star Wars movie early.

Ashley Fleetwood posted on her Facebook page that her husband, Daniel, died from a rare form of cancer.

In the post she said, "He is now one with God and with the force. He passed in his sleep and in peace. He will always be my idol and my hero."

Doctors gave him only months to live in July, and that led to his wish to see 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' before it comes out next month.

His wish got a lot of support around the world, including from Star Wars actors.

His wish came true when Disney sent the film to his home on Thursday.

Daniel was 31.
