Indiana teacher charged with stalking student
EAST CHICAGO, Ind. — A teacher in Northwest Indiana was charged with stalking a student.
Jason P. Bredesen, 37, of Merrillville is accused of sending inappropriate texts and Facebook messages to a girl in his economics class at East Chicago High School.
Police say they were sexual, and also mentioned harming his wife and the girl.
Police say the girl told her mother, who told school administrators. The school suspended Bredesen.
When police found him Friday, Bredesen had several suicide letters and said he had taken some pills.
Police are investigating whether he had similar conversations with other students.
