Historic meeting between presidents of China and Taiwan

SINGAPORE – A historic meeting in Singapore, as presidents of China and Taiwan meet.

It’s the first time the leaders of these two countries have met in more than six decades.

The last meeting between the presidents of the two nations was in 1949, when Chian KaiShek’s nationalists lost the Chinese civil war to Mao Zedong’s communists.

The nationalists rebased in Taiwan.
