JOLIET, Ill. — Joliet police are investigating the death of a woman who was waiting alone for hours after a dialysis treatment.

The 71-year-old woman was found just before midnight Saturday inside the DaVita Renal Center West in Joliet.

Her daughter called police to look for her.

Investigators say she was sitting in her wheelchair, waiting for an ambulance to pick her up.

Kurtz ambulance service says they were never scheduled to pick up the woman after her treatment.

The dialysis center says it is the patient’s responsibility to schedule a ride. They are reviewing surveillance video to determine exactly what happened.

The Will County coroner says the woman died of natural causes, but her ID is still not being released.
