Man charged in fatal South Shore stabbing

CHICAGO - A Chicago man has been charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in the South Shore neighborhood.

Brandon Young, 43, is charged with first degree murder.

Police say Young stabbed another 43-year-old man in the head and body early Saturday morning.

Officers found the victim in the hallway on the second floor of a building in the 7800 block of S. South Shore Drive just after midnight.

The officers had been responding to a call of a battery in progress.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A witness helped identify Young.
