Man, 2 dogs rescued from fire in Portage Park

CHICAGO -- A man is hospitalized in critical condition after a fire swept through a home in the Portage Park neighborhood overnight.

Fire crews arrived at the two-story building on the 5100 block of West Grace around 1:30 a.m.

Flames swept throughout the first floor.

They found the man unresponsive in the home.

Emergency crews performed CPR on him and he was taken to the hospital where he's being treated.

Two dogs were also rescued.

Crews are investigating what caused the fire.
