PHOENIX — The deaths of a family of five who were in an SUV that plunged into an Arizona lake are being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Police say 27-year-old Glenn Edward Baxter purposefully drove himself, his estranged wife and their children into Tempe Town Lake just after midnight Sunday.

The wife and mother was identified 25-year-old mom Danica Baxter, and the children were identified as 3-year-old son Reighn, 2-year-old son Nazyiah and 1-year-old daughter Zariyah.

Police say they have surveillance video from a nearby condo showing Baxter getting out of the SUV, walking down the lake, getting back behind the wheel, speeding into the lake.

Danica Baxter’s grandfather, George Britt, told KTVK Glenn Baxter had anger issues and that the couple wasn’t living together.

Britt’s wife, Crysel Woods, said Danica was trying to move on, but Glenn had other ideas.

“He had been threatening her about how he would kill the whole family if she ever left him,” she said.
