At least 7 injured in shooting following funeral in Calumet City

CALUMET CITY, Ill. -- Police in Calumet City are investigating a shooting that injured at least seven people Monday night.

According to police the shooting occurred on the 300 block of Campbell Avenue in Calumet City after a funeral around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Authorities said at least six people were shot. A seventh person injured himself trying to flee the scene.

Several of those hurt were self-transported to area hospitals.

As many as 20 shots rang out.

There are no reports yet of fatalities. Some of the injuries are considered very serious.

The suspect is still at large.
